The root beer here is INCREDIBLE!!! It's the best you'll EVER have. Great chicken, sweet potato fries, and root beer floats.

When you go to Eagle River, WI, you have to understand it is as touristy as the Dells, minus the amusement rides and water parks. What's left is a bunch of t-shirt and souvenir places crammed onto a shopping district of several blocks. We have always battled with a poor selection of small, overcrowded places for lunch on the strip. Located on the far east end of town just outside the main shopping district, Steggy's is a nicer, less crowded alternative. It's not great either, but for Eagle River it's probably as good as you'll get short of the franchise alternatives like Denny's and McD's. Steggy's cute dinosaur on their sign drew us in the first time. Their food is the usual hot dog & burger stuff, with the Wisconsin additions like bratwurst and fried fish. The kids menu has "Dino-" prefix added to the same ol' hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and burgers. Service is pretty quick, which is the main reason we like it, but I'll take a Vienna all-beef hot dog any day over their puffed-up, non-Vienna, all-beef variety. That said, their onion rings, sweet potato fries, and coleslaw are all great. Steggy's burgers and hot dogs aren't as big as they seem, but they cleverly use smaller buns to distort their appearance. The buns are the spongy white-bread variety that seem to dissolve with enough burger grease on them. Still, for the northern WI / Michigan UP territory, this place passes muster (and ketchup too). For Eagle River, it may be the best service you'll find anywhere on the strip.

Wonderful friend chicken and homemade root beer. Family pack is a great deal. We have been fans for years, cannot tell you one thing about the rest of the menu because its all about the chicken ... and the root beer.

ROOT BEER!!!! A summer favorite is the broasted chicken, homemade root beer, fries, coleslaw meal. We love Steggy's for friendly service: dine in or take out. It's a must for a picnic or a quick lunch!

This was probably one of the worst places I've eaten at in quite awhile!! My pulled pork sandwich was disgusting-it tasted like the pork was old & I didn't like the sauce at all. My husband's chicken dinner was very dry and flavorless. We also tried to substitute Mac n cheese for fries & after flip flopping back & forth we finally got it, it was a small cup of dry reheated Kraft-definitely not worth the $1.49 we paid for it. My daughter got a chicken salad that was OK, but the ranch was also disgusting!! And the 7.49 Steggy's Special was not worth it, u get a bigger better burger at McDonald's for $2. Only thing that was halfway decent was the root beer, but I've also had much better. On top of all this, they forgot our order of the mac n cheese bites as appetizer. And then at the end of eating the waitress tried to overcharge us for everything & after butting heads 3 times finally got it right. Yes, you can add all the prices together & then multiply it by the tax at the end, the same as entering each individually with tax & adding. If you don't know how tax works, you should definitely NOT be a waitress!! We will never return.

Nice little place with a comfortable atmosphere. Great root beer with a nice vanilla undertone. The fish is hand breaded but I found the flavor to be a little off - not sure if it was the freshness or the variety (may have been perch). Onion rings were excellent. I would visit again just due to the nice atmosphere.
